our diet should include a lot of natural foods like fresh fruits and raw vegetables, or vegetables that are cooked lightly or boiled. You should try and avoid the over consumption of tea, chocolates, aerated drinks, coffee, and highly spiced foods. You should also avoid eating more than three meals a day and consume milk and nuts or seeds as regularly as possible. You can also try eating a ripe guava on an empty stomach as it has been found to be beneficial in curing palpitations. In terms of physical fitness, avoid over exertion and sleep well. Physical exercise like swimming, cycling and jogging not only helps in reducing palpitations but also help regulate your bodily functions and rhythms. Finally avoid getting into stressful situations as much as possible, as they are obviously a major cause of the palpitations. These can be easily handled by using the techniques of yoga and meditation. '
